Bitumen Pipe Coat
Bitumen pipe coat is applied both externally and internally on carbon steel pipes, typically as a black coating that provides catholic protection for structural steel pipes situated underground. It’s used in various building engineering applications, roof sealing, and sandwiched layer construction, providing resistance against moisture, chemicals, corrosion, and weathering across both residential and industrial applications.
Bitumen Adhesive / Bitumen Glue
Bituminous adhesive, or bitumen glue, is used for cold gluing of construction materials, valued in particular for its watertight properties. It has thixotropic behavior becoming fluid when shaken, stirred, or otherwise agitated, and setting back to a gel when left to stand. This behavior comes from a combination of polymerized oil with EVA (ethyl-vinyl-acetate) copolymer resin, along with non-polymerized oil and oil-absorbing fillers, which together provide thixotropic performance without relying on organic solvents. It’s commonly used in roofing systems, waterproof membranes, insulation boards, and construction joints where strong adhesion and watertight performance are both required.
Bitumen felt is a building material with a solid bitumen thin layer attached to one surface. Bitumen joint sealer is used as a sealant for male and/or female pipe joint sections, with water evaporation and assembly under sufficient axial pressure forcing sealant out on both the inside and outside of the joint.
