Turkey Bitumen is an international bitumen supply portal operated by HY International Group, supplying oxidized bitumen to buyers, importers, distributors, and industrial manufacturers around the world including those sourcing material for construction and infrastructure projects connected to Turkey. We supply oxidized bitumen as genuine physical merchandise from our own packing facilities, not as a trading intermediary reselling cargo we don’t control.
This page covers what oxidized bitumen is, how it’s produced, the grades we supply, their applications, packaging, export documentation, and how international buyers can request specifications or a quotation.
Oxidized bitumen also known as blown bitumen or oxidized asphalt is petroleum bitumen that has been processed through a controlled air blowing process. Hot air is passed through penetration-grade bitumen, which raises the softening point, reduces penetration, and gives the material a harder, more rubbery consistency than the base bitumen it was made from.
This is a meaningfully different product from conventional paving bitumen. Where paving grades are selected for flexibility and workability in road construction, oxidized bitumen is engineered for thermal stability and resistance to ageing and weathering properties that matter more in industrial and construction applications than on a road surface. Its reduced temperature sensitivity and improved resistance to softening under heat are what make it suitable for roofing, waterproofing, pipe coating, and a range of other industrial uses covered below.
Oxidized bitumen is produced by passing heated air through selected penetration grade bitumen under controlled temperature and pressure conditions. This air blowing process changes the material’s physical structure increasing the softening point, reducing penetration, and improving hardness and resistance to ageing compared with the base bitumen.
Each production batch is tested in the laboratory to verify softening point, penetration, ductility, flash point, and overall product consistency before it’s approved for shipment. This testing confirms the batch meets its stated grade rather than simply falling close to it.
HY International has the capability to Export and Supply the different Grades of Oxidized Bitumen in compliance with National and International standards.
Oxidized bitumen is engineered to perform in demanding industrial and construction applications where conventional paving bitumen isn’t suited. Depending on the grade selected, buyers can expect:
Selecting the correct grade for a given application rather than defaulting to whichever is easiest to source is what determines how well the material performs over the long term.
Oxidized bitumen is used across a wide range of industrial and construction applications where waterproofing, adhesion, and thermal stability matter more than paving flexibility:
Its combination of waterproofing performance, adhesion, and resistance to weathering is what makes it the preferred binder for these applications rather than conventional paving grade bitumen.
We currently supply three confirmed oxidized bitumen grades, each produced by air-blowing penetration-grade bitumen to a different softening point and penetration target:
Bitumen 85/25
Bitumen 85/25 is produced by air-blowing 60/70 penetration bitumen. It’s a black solid material at ambient temperature that becomes liquid when heated. This grade is widely used as an anti-slip layer compound in the piling industry and for manufacturing roofing felts, and is common in roofing and waterproofing work, automotive undercarriage sealant, electrical cable joint protection, joint filling compound, and corrosion protection. It’s also used in producing bituminous marine mastic for oil and gas pipeline joints.
Bitumen 95/25
Bitumen 95/25 is also produced by air-blowing 60/70 penetration bitumen, to a different softening point target than 85/25. Like 85/25, it’s a black solid at ambient temperature and needs to be heated well above its softening point to achieve workable flow and viscosity. It’s commonly used for waterproofing applications and corrosion-resistant pipe coating, in Portland cement pavement and hydraulic applications, and in paint manufacturing, caulking, mastics, and damp-proofing. It also sees use in insulation membrane sheet production and automotive undercoating.
Bitumen 115/15
Bitumen 115/15 is produced from petroleum bitumen through the same controlled heating and air-blowing process, resulting in a grade known for a high flash point, high softening point, and strong stability during melting. It’s used in road construction crack sealing and pavement repair, general civil works, roofing, and building sealing and insulation. It also appears as an additive in construction materials, dust-binding and coating agents, and in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products, as well as in some chemical, fuel, paint, lacquer, and paper-pulp-board applications.
Other Grades
Beyond these three confirmed grades, we’re able to discuss customized oxidized bitumen specifications depending on project requirements. If your application calls for a specification outside our standard 85/25, 95/25, and 115/15 range, contact our export team to confirm current availability we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s something we can produce rather than list a grade we can’t reliably deliver.
Oxidized bitumen grades are evaluated against the same core properties used across other bitumen products, though the target values differ from paving-grade material:
We haven’t published specific numerical values for these properties on this page. For exact penetration and softening point figures, ductility ranges, and flash point specifications for a given grade, request the relevant technical data sheet or Certificate of Analysis from our export team before placing an order.
Oxidized bitumen is a solid material at ambient temperature, which gives more packaging flexibility than liquid bitumen. Depending on project requirements and export logistics, we can supply it in new steel drums, poly bags, carton boxes, jumbo bags, or bulk shipments.
Every production batch is tested before dispatch against penetration, softening point, ductility, flash point, and general consistency. SGS inspection is available upon request. Buyers who want independent third party verification before loading can request SGS inspection, appoint their own inspection agency, or arrange to have a representative attend loading in person.
We supply on FOB, CFR, or CIF terms, depending on the buyer’s preferred commercial arrangement and destination port. Each export shipment is accompanied by a standard documentation package:
Buyers coordinating import procedures into Turkey, or any other destination, should confirm their own local documentation and customs requirements in advance, as these vary by port and by the buyer’s import classification. Our export team can advise on what we’re able to provide to support that process.
Turkey Bitumen is committed to supplying oxidized bitumen backed by genuine production and packing capability, tested documentation, and dependable export logistics. Specifically:
Oxidized bitumen, also called blown bitumen or oxidized asphalt, is petroleum bitumen processed through controlled air-blowing, which raises its softening point and reduces penetration compared with the base penetration-grade bitumen it's made from.
Penetration bitumen is designed for road paving, where flexibility and workability under traffic matter most. Oxidized bitumen is processed further to increase hardness and heat resistance, making it suited to roofing, waterproofing, pipe coating, and other industrial applications rather than road surfacing.
Bitumen 85/25, Bitumen 95/25, and Bitumen 115/15 are our confirmed grades. Customized specifications may be available depending on project requirements contact our export team to confirm.
